VP Meets Maldivian Students Studying at Yunnan University

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef met with Maldivian students at the Yunnan University, Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, today.
Hussain is in China on an official visit to attend the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation’.
The discussion centred on the academic and overall experiences of the Maldivian students pursuing their studies at Yunnan University under the auspices of the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship.
Speaking at the meeting, Hussain raised the issue of the US dollar withdrawal limit for overseas transactions and reassured the students of the Administration’s understanding of the complications associated with the limitation. The students also shared their collective experiences and grievances with the Vice President.
Concluding the meeting, Hussain assured the students that the current administration, under the leadership of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, is actively addressing the issues pertaining to the US dollar withdrawal limit and expressed confidence in resolving the matter in the near future.
The Vice President is scheduled to address the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation’ organised by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA).
He is accompanied by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade H.E. Mohamed Saeed, at the forum scheduled for December 7–8 in Kunming, Yunnan Province in China.
