The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has announced that 30 young Huffaz—children who have fully memorised the Holy Quran—are scheduled to graduate on the Ramadan.
The graduation ceremony, set for March, will honour 42 additional Huffaz with the prestigious Presidential Medal, reflecting the government’s intensified commitment to supporting Quranic scholarship.
So far this year, 21 children have successfully completed their memorisation and passed the official examination, while eight more are either currently undergoing assessment or prepared to do so, marking an increase compared to last year’s figures.
The government has identified the cultivation of Huffaz as a key national objective and has implemented measures to support it, including a raise in financial allowances for Huffaz since June.
Under the leadership of a President committed to advancing the values of Islam, the administration has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting Quranic knowledge, emphasising that empowering young people to memorise and embody the teachings of the Holy Quran remains a top national priority.
