Young Man Arrested in Dhuvaafaru in Drug-Related Case

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in R. Dhuvaafaru on suspicion of using, possessing, selling, and trafficking illicit drugs, according to the statement released by the police. 

The individual arrested in connection with the case has been identified as Maaish Ahmed, 21, of Maaveli, R. Dhuvaafaru.

According to the police, officers intercepted and searched Maaish on a street in Dhuvaafaru on 23 June. During the search, 75 rubber packets containing suspected illicit narcotics were discovered.

The police stated that Maaish was later presented before the court for a remand hearing. The court ordered that he be detained for 15 days pending further investigation.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.

The police added that the arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug-related offences.
