Zaina Abdulla Appointed to PCB to Represent Banking Sector

Zaina Abdulla from Ga. Dhaandhoo has been appointed as a member of the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), where she will represent the banking sector.
According to the PCB, her appointment reflects her experience in banking and finance, with a particular focus on corporate finance, Islamic banking, and state-owned enterprise (SOE) governance.
Zaina currently serves as Head of Corporate Processing at Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) and brings more than 10 years of experience in the financial sector.

Prior to her role at MIB, she worked as a Senior Officer at the PCB. The board noted that during her tenure, she contributed to monitoring and evaluating SOE operations, analysing financial statements, budgets, and business plans, as well as supporting administrative processes aimed at strengthening SOE governance.
Zaina holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance Practice from the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) in Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Pune in India.
Her professional expertise includes corporate financing, credit risk assessment, governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic management.
