Zameel Crowned Champion of Ooredoo Nation Cup 2026
Mohamed Zameel Zihuny has been crowned champion of the Ooredoo Nation Cup 2026 after defeating 47 other competitors in an FC 26 esports tournament organised by Ooredoo Maldives as part of its #OoredooFootballFoari campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The tournament featured 48 of the country’s top FC 26 players, with each participant representing one of the 48 nations competing in the FIFA World Cup 2026. According to Ooredoo Maldives, the format was designed to mirror the excitement and global spirit of football’s biggest tournament.
Zameel, representing South Korea, secured the championship following a series of competitive matches. Abdulla Maahil, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, finished as runner-up, while Zakwan Shihad, representing Austria, claimed second runner-up.
The winners received cash prizes, trophies, and Hisense Smart TVs. Zameel received MVR 8,000, a trophy, a Hisense 75-inch UHD 4K VIDAA Smart TV, and a World Cup replica. Maahil was awarded MVR 5,000, a trophy, and a Hisense 65-inch UHD 4K VIDAA smart TV. Zakwan received MVR 2,000, a trophy, and a Hisense 55-inch UHD 4K VIDAA Smart TV.
Ooredoo Maldives stated that the Ooredoo Nation Cup formed part of its nationwide #OoredooFootballFoari campaign, which aims to bring football fans together through promotions, digital experiences, and esports competitions during the FIFA World Cup 2026.
