Zameel Expresses Gratitude for Support, Sets Sights on Next Presidential Bid

Independent presidential candidate Hassan Zameel has affirmed his determination to persist in his presidential aspirations despite his performance in this year’s election.

In a recent tweet, Zameel expressed his gratitude to individuals who placed their trust in him and cast their ballots in his favour during the presidential election. He highlighted that the support he received from the public has rekindled his hope in the advancement of truth.

In interviews with media outlets, Zameel confirmed his intention to contest the next presidential election as an independent candidate. He maintained his belief that a coalition government would not be conducive to improving the country’s affairs. 

However, he also disclosed that he would not actively engage in politics for the next five years, although he remains committed to participating in the next presidential election.

Zameel secured the eighth position among the eight candidates who participated in the presidential election, receiving less than 0.30% of the vote, totaling 327 votes.

The second round of the presidential election is slated for September 30.
