2020: Bad Year Good Gadgets
2020 has stripped off more than just sanity for some. But let me make a statement and say that hey at least the gadgets were good. The uncalled-for virus outbreak has led to us being stuck on our screens to do our jobs and stay connected. Forget the days parents complained about you being stuck to the gadgets.

Even with the usual hits and misses in the tech industry, quite a few have caught attention.
PS5
The biggest star of 2020 (Still talking about gadgets here), has to be the Sony PS5.
With the big reveal of PS5, the expectations were off the roof. But according to many enthusiasts, they not only live up to the expectations, they surpassed them.
The PS5 proves to be both powerful and well-designed. The PS5 caters to both primed and ready next-gen gamers and tepid PS4 owners looking to dip their toes into the future of gaming - and for the latter it's a console that so seamlessly bridges the gap between the last generation and the next that you probably won't need to boot up your PS4 ever again.
From big upgrades like the super-fast NVMe SSD and powerful GPU that enable higher frame rates and ray tracing, to subtle touches like the built-in microphone on the controller that can serve as a quick stand-in for a headset, the PS5 feels like it was built for ease of use as well as pure power.

Samsung Galaxy S20
The phones of 2020 were also great. Samsung’s Galaxy S20 line launched in March as the first flagship 5G phones. Remember March?
Being the best android phone of 2020 is a strong statement to live up to but the Samsung Galaxy S20 is a powerful phone with an ergonomic and attractive design; a 6.2-inch screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, 5G download speeds (where available), high-spec cameras on both sides of the phone, and a big battery to boot.

Apple iPhone 12
Apple came bulldozing afterwards, with their widest ranger ever, with a total of 4 new iPhones: the iPhone 12 mini, a new compact form-factor at the lower range, the iPhone 12, the “standard” iPhone part, and continuing to offer the Pro models in the form of the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. I don’t need to tell you were to get these?
The biggest feature of 2020 inspired iPhones is the 5G connectivity. Thanks to the usage of a Qualcomm sourced modem, Apple is now enabling 5G connectivity across its whole new range. Good cameras and better performance goes without saying. The iPhone 12 Pro offers not only a telephoto lens for optical zoom but a new LiDAR scanner that speeds up autofocus and enables Night mode portraits.
I wish I could tell you all the gadgets could somehow compensate for the train wreck 2020 has been. But here’s to a new, better year with hopefully better gadgets. Happy New Year!
