Fun and Educational Games with Kulhema Maldives
Kulhema Maldives, founded by Hussen Abdulla, started in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown and wanted to use their time with educational games.

Part of the reason why Kulhema Maldives was created was because of Hussen’s passion for the ocean. He is one of the first certified scuba divers in the Maldives, and his kids ask questions about marine animals. With the help of divers, marine biologists and the Marine Research Institute, Kulhema Maldives launched their first product, ‘Dhivehi Dhirun.’
All of Kulhama Maldives’ products are popular. Their products are popular among resorts and work with them to make customised items. They try to make unique and non-invasive items for local customers. For example, their customers love the memory game, where they have to match local species that look different to babies than to adults.
Currently, Hussen runs Kulhema Maldives as a part-time business. But hopes to expand it in the future.
Hussen believes that a regular local pop-up event would be great for small businesses. Also, it would help businesses like Kulhema Maldives to liaise with local island souvenir shops and resort boutiques.
All of the designs and illustrations are created by local artist, Aishath Rishtha.
