Baachy's "Paradox" comprises various installations, predominantly sculptures.

Among the exhibition's highlights are two remarkable artworks that have left Baachy particularly satisfied.

The first, titled "Whispers Behind the Curtain," presents a partially drawn curtain, symbolising the boundary between two realms. This metaphorical veil, bathed in a dim, ethereal light, invites viewers to peek behind it and discover the secrets concealed within. "Whispers Behind the Curtain" celebrates the allure of the unseen, allowing each viewer to unravel personal narratives within their own mind.

The second noteworthy artwork, "Unity Resonance," is a mesmerising artwork that celebrates unity, identity, and national pride.

It features two intricately sculpted hands, symbolising cooperation and togetherness. The centerpiece showcases the Maldivian National Anthem written in the exquisite "Dhives akuru" script, representing the nation's unique cultural heritage. Through the integration of language, national identity, and togetherness, "Unity Resonance" stands as a testament to the power of art in preserving and celebrating diversity.

Baachy is particularly proud of this piece.

“The reason why I’m satisfied the most with it because it’s was a new experience for me. It’s a script I don’t know. A friend of mine (Ismail Yoosuf, Appu) taught me," said the artist.

Baachy further elaborated that it was only after he started learning how to write in Dhives akuru that he found how different it is from modern Dhivehi script. For one, Dhives akuru goes from left to right, he said.

Elements from Baachy's Studio — "A Masterpiece Artwork"

In addition to these captivating pieces, Baachy has incorporated elements from his studio into the exhibition. Two tables covered in layers of paint bear witness to the artist's creative process over the past six years.

Having served as his canvas for countless paintings, these tables exude the energy and passion invested in every stroke. Alongside the tables stands a pair of worn jeans, which he wore for four years whenever he was working in his studio, hold stories of inspiration and dedication.

Baachy completed the entire project remarkably quickly, devoting two weeks of tireless effort from late evenings to early mornings.

"I worked from 10:30PM every night to 5:30 to 6AM, for two weeks."

When asked about his hopes for the exhibition, Baachy emphasised the importance of reading the descriptions accompanying each artwork. He encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the interconnectedness of the collection, offering a unique and thought-provoking experience.

"If you read the descriptions, you’d know that artworks displayed are connected," explained Baachy.

Through "Paradox," Baachy aims to stimulate dialogue and challenge perceptions, inviting viewers to embark on a personal journey of self-discovery and contemplation.
