Twitter Announces New Feature That Allows Users to Charge for Extra Content
Twitter has revealed early details on its new paid product feature. Dubbed "Super Follows," the feature will enable users to earn money from their tweets in exchange for additional content.
Users would be able to charge followers and give them access to extra content. It could be in the form of bonus tweets, access to a community group, subscription to a newsletter, or a badge indicating your support. In a mockup screenshot, Twitter showcased an example whereby a user charges $4.99 per month to receive a series of perks.
Super Follows is not available yet, but Twitter says it will have more to share in the coming months.
Twitter also announced a new feature called Communities, where people can create and join groups around specific interests, like cats or plants for instance. Somewhat similar to Facebook Groups, this feature would allow them to see more tweets focused on those topics.
