Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC requires a permanent internet connection

And fans are not happy. This latest game in the popular Crash series is brought to PC by Activision Blizzard and their latest attempt to stop piracy results in the game always needing an internet connection to play. If your internet goes out for even a second or you have an unstable connection, then this single-player offline game will stop working for you.

Less than 48 hours after release, pirates had already cracked the game. Those who sail the high digital seas can play Crash Bandicoot 4 at their leisure while those who actually paid for the game are having trouble playing it.

Goodbye PS3, PSP and PS Vita

Sony is officially closing the digital storefronts of these three platforms this year. PS3 and PSP will close their stores on July 2nd 2021 while PS Vita closes on August 27th 2021. Once their digital stores close their will be no way for people to buy new PS3, PSP or PS Vita games. While these systems are very much last-last-gen, it’s still sad to say such a permanent goodbye to these consoles.

Those who already have games purchased on any of those consoles will still be able to download and play their games even after the deadline. It’s a pity that so many wonderful PS1 and PS2 classics on PSN will be lost though.

Watchdogs getting a 60fps mode for current-gen

The now current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series consoles will be getting a 60fps upgrade in the near future, as confirmed by the games’ developers in a recent Reddit AMA.

Watchdogs currently offers a 30fps mode with raytracing at a checkerboard 4k resolution on PS5/Series X. The new 60fps mode will most likely turn raytracing off and go with a lower resolution to maintain the higher framerate.

Microsoft to acquire Discord

Microsoft isn’t slowing down on its gaming acquisitions as the tech giant is set to buy up Discord next. An official statement is expected next month. Discord is considered the premier VoIP gaming chat software on PC. Users can create their own servers with individual audio chat groups for different games. The usage of bots and other useful features like auto-afk and music channels help to make the discord experience a smooth one.

This is great news for Xbox gamers as the chances of a native console Discord app is a real possibility now.

Outriders is out

The highly anticipated looter-shooter Outriders just released to a lot of praise. The general gameplay will be familiar to anyone who’s played Destiny or The Division. Unlike those games, Outriders’ main focus is to deliver a strong single player experience with a focus on the main story. For those who want to play with friends, up to 3-player coop is still available.

The addictive combat and a deep skill tree system makes the game a fun romp for anyone interested in a good PvE shooter game.

The Uncharted movie will be out…soonish

PlayStation gamers will be familiar with the adventures of Nathan Drake in his adventures on the PS3, PS Vita and PS4. The already visually stunning and cinematic games will soon be thrown onto the big screen as “Uncharted” - set to release February 18th 2022. The movie has been in production for more than twelve years and has been delayed out of it’s original July 2021 release date.

The film stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg and is directed by Ruben Fleischer who’s brought us movies like Venom and Zombieland.
