President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has asserted that he answers only to the people and is not influenced by others. He made these remarks in relation to the case of a 21-year-old who fell from a building onto the roof of a warehouse in Malé on 18 April.
The incident has sparked widespread public outrage, with protesters demanding, among other things, a public apology from the relevant authorities for what they describe as the police’s gross mishandling of the case.
