Shooza, a Woman Diagnosed with Endometriosis

This is Shooza’s story, a woman who was diagnosed with Endometriosis. Because of her condition, she had to battle infertility as well, and with it the societal idea of motherhood as an essential part of a woman’s identity and fulfillment.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition where the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus (called the endometrium) grows outside of the uterus.

This tissue can grow on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, bowel, and other pelvic organs, causing pain and inflammation.

It affects approximately 1 in 10 women worldwide.
