Dredging Work Completed for Boduthakurufaanu Magu Phase Five Development

Land reclamation has been completed for the fifth phase of road development along Boduthakurufaanu Magu, according to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company.

The company stated that work is currently ongoing to install sewerage systems, drainage pipes and streetlights, while brick pavements are also under construction.

It added that 50 percent of pavements and pothole works for electric cable junctions have been completed, with these scheduled to be finalised by next week.

Sheet piling works for segments two, three and four are progressing as planned, with 145 metres completed so far.

MTCC noted that drainage systems will be installed following the completion of sheet piling.

The third section of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project covers segments two to five, stretching from Izzudheen Jetty to Henveiru Ferry Terminal.

The section spans a total length of 700 metres, with 610 metres of inland roads set to be upgraded. Segment five of the project has reached 45 percent completion.

The project forms part of broader government efforts to reduce road congestion, improve traffic flow and enhance mobility, contributing to ongoing changes in the urban landscape of northern Malé.
