STELCO Announces Potential Power Outage in Hulhumalé Phase 2 Tomorrow

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has announced that there may be a power outage in Hulhumalé Phase 2 tomorrow.

The interruption is expected between 6:00 am and 7:00 am, on Friday, 13 September 2024, as works are carried out to connect the newly installed 132 KV high-voltage substation to the Greater Malé Area Interconnection Grid.

The substation, designed to supply electricity to the second phase of the Hulhumalé project, will include two 50 MVA high-voltage transformers, high-voltage switchgear, and medium-voltage outgoing feeders.

STELCO has assured that the works will enhance the reliability of the electricity supply for residents and businesses in Hulhumalé Phase 2 once completed.
