Man Arrested in Drug Smuggling Operation Near GA. Gemanafushi

A man has been arrested in connection with a drug smuggling attempt to GA. Gemanafushi following a joint operation by police and counter-narcotics intelligence.
The operation, carried out on 14 May by officers from the Gemanafushi Police Station and intelligence units, was initiated based on a tip-off. According to police, a launch nearing the Gemanafushi port was inspected as part of the operation. During the inspection, rubber packets containing suspected drugs were recovered from the vessel.

Police stated that the provisional weight of the recovered substances is 28 grams. The launch was reportedly operated by Hassan Shujau, 45, a resident of GA. Gemanafushi, Banafusaage, who has since been arrested in connection with the case.
Shujau was presented before court, which ordered that he be held in police custody for a period of 10 days. Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
