Customs Seizes Cocaine Worth MVR 2.5 Million Smuggled via Courier Service

The Maldives Customs Service has seized a package containing cocaine with an estimated street value of MVR 2.5 million.
According to a statement issued by Customs, the drugs were discovered on April 27 during an inspection of a suspicious package brought into the country through a courier service.

The substance, weighing 1,020 grams, tested positive for cocaine during initial analysis.
Following the seizure, the package was handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
