Maldives Expo 2025 Begins, Celebrating Culture and Innovation

Maldives Expo 2025, the largest national exhibition celebrating culture, creativity, innovation, entertainment, and entrepreneurship, kicked off last night in Hulhumale’ with a colourful fireworks display.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the event. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed accompanied the opening ceremony with him, after which the first couple toured the exhibition stalls, which showcased and celebrated Maldivian creativity, innovation, entertainment, and entrepreneurship.

The exhibition runs from 23 to 31 May 2025 at Central Park, Hulhumalé, and remains open daily from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..
On the previous evening, President Muizzu attended the Maldives Expo Award Ceremony at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE). He presented awards across various categories, including the prestigious Golden Prize, which recognised the five highest-scoring exhibits.
The ceremony saw a total of 275 awards presented. The exhibition featured the winning entries, which ranged from local food products to artistic displays.

The exhibition featured 383 participants representing local talent across 14 main categories and 82 subcategories. Most entries came from the manual labour sector. Participants hailed from islands across the nation, spanning from Haa Alif to Laamu Atoll. Malé and Thulhaadhoo in Baa Atoll submitted the highest number of entries.
Organisers received over 3,600 submissions through application forms, highlighting strong national engagement in the event.
