Speedboat Collides with Tugboat, Captain Injured

A speedboat heading to Alifu Dhaalu Atoll collided with a tugboat yesterday, resulting in injuries to one person.
The incident occurred at 3:30 pm as the speedboat was entering the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) jetty area.

Police confirmed that the captain of the speedboat sustained injuries and has since received medical treatment at a hospital, although the nature and extent of the injuries have not been disclosed. No other passengers or crew members were reported to have been harmed in the collision.
Photographs released by police show the speedboat, identified as “My Express 2,” with significant damage, including severe damage to the side of the vessel and shattered glass. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
