In light of the arrivals, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has urged the public to minimise visits to the airport for welcoming returning pilgrims. The agency also advised the pilgrims themselves to avoid participating in gatherings upon arrival.

HPA Public Health Coordinator Mohamed Hamzath, speaking at a Public Service Media (PSM) programme today, highlighted concerns about potential overcrowding at the airport and the risk of spreading infectious diseases. He reiterated the importance of taking precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of both pilgrims and the wider community.

Meanwhile, Maldivian pilgrims commenced their post-Hajj journey to Madinah today, with the first group departing earlier this morning.
