President Muizzu Establishes Embassy of Maldives in Qatar

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially established the Embassy of the Maldives in Qatar, placing it under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He announced the decision through a press release issued by the President’s Office earlier today.
Acting under Article 116A of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives, the President authorised the establishment of the embassy to strengthen diplomatic ties with Qatar and promote cooperation in the fields of education, politics, economy, and defence.
The President’s Office also issued a statement outlining the embassy’s key responsibilities and confirmed the official English name of the mission as the Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in the State of Qatar.
Correspondence from state agencies to the embassy will include the agency code 502.
