President Muizzu Reaffirms Commitment to Gender Balance Governance in Parliament

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to advancing gender balance and fostering an inclusive environment within Parliament, highlighting the ongoing underrepresentation of women in legislatures as a significant challenge both globally and nationally.

In a message shared on his official X account, the President emphasised the crucial role of parliaments in safeguarding democracy and promoting good governance. He underscored their responsibility to uphold transparency, shape effective policies, and, above all, serve the people with vigilance and integrity.
