Government Opens Tender for Quarantine Facility at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital

The Government of the Maldives has announced a public tender to establish a dedicated quarantine facility at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the nation’s health infrastructure.

The Ministry of Finance recently announced that the project will be carried out under the COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Project, with financial support from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

The Ministry is now inviting eligible parties to submit bids for the construction and establishment of the facility. According to the official notice, the tender process will follow standard procedures for registered construction contractors, in accordance with the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Policy.

Interested bidders must pay a non-refundable registration fee of MVR 1,500 or USD 100. Payments will be accepted via the Bandeyri Portal during official working hours until August 21st, excluding public holidays.

To qualify, bidders are required to submit a bid security of USD 26,500, or its equivalent in Maldivian Rufiyaa. The bid security must remain valid for 178 days from the date of bid opening.

The official bid opening is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, at the meeting hall of the National Tender Department, Ministry of Finance.
