This marks the first in a planned series of agreements aimed at improving service quality at Velana International Airport (VIA) and strengthening collaboration between MACL and various government bodies operating at the airport. Under the terms of the agreement, MACL will work in close coordination with the Agriculture Ministry to enhance procedures and regulatory mechanisms governing the air transport of animals and plants.
MACL stated that the initiative reflects its broader commitment to aligning services at VIA with international standards and enhancing operational efficiency. The agreement also comes as part of preparations for the upcoming opening of VIA’s new passenger terminal, scheduled for 26 July.
