Teenager Dies in Major Road Accident in Malé

A 17-year-old has died and two others have been seriously injured in a major road accident that occurred late last night in Malé.
The incident took place in front of the Maafannu Bus Terminal on Boduthakurufaanu Magu. According to police, a speeding motorcycle struck a pedestrian who was using a zebra crossing before colliding with a passing pickup truck.

All three individuals involved sustained injuries, with the 17-year-old succumbing to their injuries. The two other victims are being treated for serious injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Footage of the incident has circulated widely on social media, showing a large pool of blood at the scene. The front of the pickup truck was visibly damaged, while debris from the motorcycle and a helmet were seen scattered on the road.
Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
