VP Opens North Malé League – Maldives Resort Volley League 2025

Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef officiated the opening ceremony of the North Malé League – Maldives Resort Volley League 2025 on 14 July, marking the official start of this year’s tournament.
The Vice President was welcomed at the event by Mohamed Shaafee, President of the Volleyball Academy of Maldives. Ahead of the opening match, he met with players from both teams, offering words of encouragement and underscoring the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

The opening game saw Meeru Island Resort face off against One&Only Reethi Rah, with One&Only Reethi Rah securing a straight-set victory, 3–0. Following the match, the Vice President awarded the Man of the Match trophy, congratulating the winning side and commending all players for their performance.
Organised by the Volleyball Academy of Maldives, the Maldives Resort Volley League aims to foster camaraderie and team spirit among resort employees, while also enhancing their physical and mental well-being through competitive sport. This year’s tournament spans four zones and features participation from 17 resorts across the country.
