Road to VIA to Close for New Terminal Opening on July 26

The road leading to Velana International Airport (VIA) will be closed on 26 July from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to facilitate the official opening of the airport’s new terminal.
According to the Maldives Police Service, taxis and private vehicles will not be permitted beyond the highway traffic post during this time.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) confirmed to MV+ that its bus service to the airport will be suspended that evening for the opening of the new airport terminal until midnight.

Police have requested the public’s cooperation and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
To mark the terminal’s opening, the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) will host a fireworks and drone show that evening.
