Maldives Attends High-Level Conference on Palestine and Two-State Solution

The Maldives is attending the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, taking place from 28 to 29 July 2025 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations, is leading the Maldivian delegation. During the plenary session, the Maldives will deliver a national statement that reaffirms its principled and long-standing support for the rights of the Palestinian people.

By joining the conference, the Maldives reinforces its commitment to multilateral efforts that aim to bring peace, stability, and justice to the Palestinian people. The Government of Maldives continues to advocate for the creation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.

France and Saudi Arabia are co-chairing the Conference, which falls under United Nations General Assembly Resolution 79/81, titled Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine. The platform brings the international community together to reaffirm support for the two-state solution.

Ahead of the plenary session, ministers will hold a High-level Meeting to present and discuss the outcomes of the Conference’s Working Groups.
