Power Outage Hits Malé and Hulhumalé Due to Technical Issues, Says STELCO

The State Electric Company (STELCO) said technical issues caused power cuts in parts of Malé and Hulhumalé this morning.

STELCO confirmed that repair work is underway and apologised for any inconvenience caused.

The power outage hit around 9:40 a.m. this morning. Electricity was restored to some areas of Malé about 30 minutes after the outage began.

This is the second time there was a power outage in the whole of Male’ and Hulhumale’ this year.
