ECM Seeks Over 260 Staff For Local Council And WDC Elections

The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has announced plans to recruit more than 260 staff for next year’s local council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

To facilitate the process, the commission will hold walk-in interviews next weekend, offering a wider opportunity for interested candidates to apply. Interviews are scheduled for Friday, 29 August, at Kalaafaanu School from 16:00 to 22:00, and Saturday, 30 August, at Hulhumalé Kaamil Didi Preschool during the same hours.

The ECM stated that if all vacancies are not filled through these walk-in sessions, applications will continue to be evaluated until every post is occupied. Additional recruitment efforts will begin from 15 September, with examinations and interviews for the positions scheduled between 1 September and 15 March.

The commission regularly undertakes additional recruitment ahead of each election to strengthen its workforce and ensure smooth operations.
