Joali Maldives Secures North Zone Champion Title in Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025

Joali Maldives claimed the North Zone Champion title in the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 on Friday with a decisive 6–3 victory over Velaa Private Island. The zone final took place at Royal Island Resort & Spa.

According to Tekkers, the match began with Joali asserting control through two early first-half goals. The second half brought an intense exchange, with Joali extending their lead before Velaa responded with three quick goals. Despite the pressure, Joali maintained composure, netting a fifth goal to restore momentum and sealing the win with a final strike in the closing minutes.

The evening opened with the national anthem and player greetings, attended by chief guests including Nasrulla Ali, General Manager of Royal Island Resort & Spa; Mohamed Mausoom, Resort Manager of Velaa Private Island; Julien Loubere, Resort Manager of Joali Maldives; and Ali Ahmeem, Assistant Director of HR at Velaa Private Island.

At the closing ceremony, Muslim Mohamed (Rona) of Joali Maldives was named Final Man of the Match. The win not only secured the North Zone title for Joali Maldives but also advanced the team to face the North Kaafu Champions in the next stage for a spot in the Grand Finale.

With the North Zone concluded, the tournament now shifts to the Dhaalu Zone, hosted by Sun Siyam Iru Veli at Bandidhoo Island. Matches are set to begin on 5th September, continuing the high-energy competition.
