The service follows an agreement signed last month between Hawks Hotels and Island Aviation Services Limited to commence seaplane operations to the island. The inaugural flight included Hawks Hotels’ director Hussain Aman and Visit Maldives’ chairperson Abdulla Giyas, along with managing director Ibrahim Shiuree.

Kamadhoo, where local tourism is expanding, attracts both tourists and residents. The island hosts several guesthouses, including two high-end properties managed by Hawks Hotels.
Currently, the only airport in Baa Atoll is located on Dharavandhoo, another island experiencing growing tourism. While residents of islands without airports have expressed interest in developing local airports, many are cautious due to the high financial costs and potential environmental impact associated with land reclamation.
Earlier this year, a similar seaplane service was launched to AA. Thoddoo in February, reflecting a growing trend of seaplane connectivity to islands without airports.
