Police Investigate Threat Tip Off in Rehendhi School, No Danger

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) confirmed they are operating at Rehendhi School in Hulhumalé Phase 1 following a tip-off.

Police said officers were at the school to follow up on a tip they had received and were carrying out the necessary checks. They have not provided further details.

According to Mihaaru news, Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu said the police presence was linked to an email received by the school, which claimed a bomb was near the premises. Teachers reported the matter to the authorities.

The minister stated that the email was sent from an unknown source and that no danger had been identified so far. However, police are continuing to investigate the matter.
