President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed three members to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) today.

At a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning, Dr Hussain Faaiz, Mohamed Nasih, and Dr Dheeba Moosa were formally sworn in as members of the Commission. The three took the oath of office before Supreme Court Justice Hon Uz Ali Rasheed Hussain, after which the President presented them with their official letters of appointment.

The appointments follow the expiry of terms for Nasih and members Mohamed Farshath and Fathimath Shareef on 3 September 2025.

Mohamed Nasih previously served as CSC President, first appointed in September 2020 under the previous administration when Parliament was dominated by the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). Last November, after the People’s National Congress (PNC) secured a parliamentary supermajority, no-confidence motions were filed against Nasih over alleged misconduct.

Following an inquiry, the allegations were dismissed, and the relevant committee recommended his removal. The PNC-majority Parliament subsequently voted to retain him in office, while members of several other independent institutions were removed on the same day.
