Four Arrested Over Hulhumalé Phase II Brawl Remanded for 10 Days

Four youths arrested in connection with a public brawl near the Hiyaa Towers in Hulhumalé Phase II have been remanded in police custody for 10 days.

The individuals, comprising two men aged 24 and 27 and two women aged 18 and 19, were apprehended by police officers on patrol in the area on Friday evening.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the suspects were taken before the court on Saturday for their remand hearing, where the decision was made to keep them in custody.

Video footage of the incident circulating online shows two men fighting and two women involved in a separate altercation, with several bystanders attempting to intervene before police arrived and detained the group.

The police have not disclosed further details regarding the cause of the altercation or whether any injuries were reported.
