Bangladeshi National Dies After Falling from Boat Run Aground

A Bangladeshi National has been confirmed dead after he fell into the sea from a boat run aground on the reef of Kaafu Atoll Kaashidhoo.

The police said that around 7:50 pm on 11 November, they received a report of a boat named “Faisalaa” run aground on the southern reef of Kaashidhoo. The police said last night that they were looking for an individual who went missing after the incident occurred.

The man, identified as MD Alamgir, 30, was found last night in the area where the boat ran aground, and was confirmed to be dead before he was taken to the Kaafu Kaashidhoo Health Centre, the police said, citing the health centre. 

The boat was carrying a total of 11 people, all men, said the police. Of which there were 5 locals and 6 expatriates. 

The investigation is ongoing, said the police.
