The National News Agency (NNA) has launched a new platform designed to provide content and resources to private media outlets across the Maldives.
The initiative was introduced last Thursday through a joint effort by Public Service Media (PSM), the President’s Office, and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Art. During the ceremony, 20 media outlets, including Sun Siyam Media, signed partnership agreements, with additional outlets encouraged to join.

The platform will offer private media access to PSM’s video and photo content, as well as materials gathered from events covered by participating outlets. The Youth Ministry stated that the service is expected to streamline news production and expand access to verified information.
PSM said the initiative reflects a broader effort to strengthen private media and support content diversity. The agency is also in discussions to incorporate resources from international media partners affiliated with PSM.
The launch is regarded as a key milestone in media collaboration, positioning the NNA as a central hub for reliable content for newsrooms across the country.
