Trump Organization Announces Plans for Luxury Resort in the Maldives

MV+ News Desk | November 18, 2025

The Trump Organization, the private business of US President Donald Trump, has announced plans to develop a luxury resort on an island 25 minutes by speedboat from Malé.

The project is being developed in partnership with London-listed real estate firm Dar Global. A joint statement from the two companies revealed that the resort will feature more than 80 ultra-luxury beach and overwater villas. The resort is expected to open in late 2028.

In a first for the Maldives, the project will utilise blockchain technology to attract investors. Through a process known as tokenisation, investors will be able to purchase fractional shares of the resort prior to construction, providing greater liquidity and access to high-end real estate.

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of President Trump, said he was “delighted to introduce the Trump brand to the Maldives.”

The Trump Organization currently operates hotels and resorts in the United States, Scotland, and Dubai.
