Police Respond to Second Stabbing Incident Between Brothers in Malé Following Hulhumalé Case

A week after a stabbing incident between two brothers in Hulhumalé, police responded to a similar case in Malé involving siblings.
Authorities reported receiving a call at 18:42 on Sunday regarding a stabbing at a residence in Malé. One man was injured and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. A 28‑year‑old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
The previous incident took place last Tuesday in an apartment in the eighth tower of the Hiyaa housing complex in Hulhumalé Phase II. Police said they arrived following a tip‑off about a disturbance and discovered that one of the brothers had been stabbed during the altercation.
The injured man, a 38‑year‑old Indian national, sustained a deep leg wound and a severed main nerve. He was taken to Hulhumalé Hospital for treatment.
Investigations into both incidents remain ongoing.
