Four Arrested in Gaafu Alif Under Operation Alimagu

Maldives Police Service have arrested four individuals in Gaafu Alif Atoll as part of the expanding Operation Alimagu, an ongoing effort targeting drug trafficking and money laundering activities.
The arrests were carried out yesterday morning in Gaafu Alif Atoll. Police identified the suspects as Shaffah Latheef, 28, of Shevona, Gaafu Alif Villingili; Ahmed Madheeh, 33, of Musicee-aage, Gaafu Alif Villingili; Ahmed Anaam Ibrahim, 30, of Aizan, Gaafu Alif Villingili; and Noor-u-Nizam, 35, of Araa-iruge, Gaafu Alif Villingili.
According to police, Shaffah Latheef, Ahmed Madheeh, and Ahmed Anaam Ibrahim have been remanded in custody pending trial, while Noor-u-Nizam has been remanded for a period of 15 days.
The arrests form part of a broader anti-drug operation launched in November last year. Authorities confirmed that Operation Alimagu includes searches of premises linked to suspected traffickers, alongside other law enforcement measures.
Police said investigations into the suspects and related activities are continuing.
