MPL Awards Contract for Modern Yacht Marina in Haa Alifu Uligan

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has awarded a contract to develop a modern yacht marina in Haa Alifu Uligan.

The contract has been granted to SAS e Construction Pvt Ltd, with the agreement signed at a ceremony at MPL’s head office. MPL Deputy CEO Ali Hashim signed on behalf of MPL, while Managing Director Abdullah Sawad signed for the contractor.

During the first phase of the project, the contractor will develop a marina capable of accommodating 18 yachts simultaneously. The facility will also provide essential services for yachts, including immigration and customs support.

MPL will operate the yacht marina and is seeking additional contractors to further expand the facility in subsequent phases.

Uligan, situated at the northern tip of the Maldives, is a common entry point for international yachts. The government aims to establish the marina as a key economic activity for the island, enhancing services for visiting yachts and generating economic benefits for the local community.
