Fire Breaks Out in Galolhu House, MNDF Responds
A fire broke out at a house in the Galolhu area of Malé this morning, prompting an emergency response from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service.
Images circulating on social media, as well as visuals shared by the MNDF, show flames and smoke engulfing a house located along a narrow road in the densely populated neighbourhood. The scale of the damage and the cause of the fire have not yet been confirmed by authorities.
Emergency responders were deployed to the scene to contain the blaze, though no official information has been released regarding injuries or casualties at the time of reporting.

In a public advisory, the Maldivian Red Crescent urged residents in the vicinity to take precautions against potential health risks from smoke exposure. The organisation advised people to avoid heavily affected areas, cover their nose and mouth when outdoors, and seek medical attention if they experience breathing difficulties or dizziness.
