Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has held discussions with Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Anis Matta on strengthening bilateral cooperation in Islamic affairs.
The discussions took place during a courtesy call by the Indonesian Deputy Minister, where both sides explored avenues for collaboration, including the development of the Islamic Endowment Fund and opportunities for joint training programmes for imams and khatibs.
The Maldivian minister expressed appreciation for the engagement, highlighting the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in areas related to religion and community development.
During the visit, the Indonesian delegation also met with senior officials of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, where they were briefed on key initiatives and the work of various agencies operating under the ministry.
As part of the visit, the Deputy Minister toured the Islamic Centre and the Malé Friday Mosque.
