The Chinese government has invited Maldivian companies and industry stakeholders to participate in the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), scheduled to take place in Xiamen from 8 to 11 September.

According to a notice published by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the invitation was extended by the organisers of the annual international investment exhibition, which is hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).

The ministry said the fair provides a platform for practical investment opportunities and policy-related discussions, bringing together businesses, investors and government representatives from around the world.

In addition to exhibition opportunities, participants will be able to take part in business-to-business (B2B) meetings, investment seminars and project roadshows aimed at fostering partnerships and investment collaboration.

The ministry encouraged interested Maldivian companies and industrial entities to submit applications through the fair’s official website and share participation details with the ministry via email.

CIFIT is one of China’s largest investment-focused events and serves as a platform for promoting international trade, investment cooperation and economic partnerships. The fair attracts participants from a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, renewable energy and services.

The invitation comes as the Maldives and China continue to strengthen economic and commercial ties, with growing engagement in trade, investment and development cooperation.
