Kudahuvadhoo Police Station Destroys Alcohol in Custody

Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo Police Station destroyed 131 bottles of alcohol and 195 cans of beer on 2 June, which were held in its custody and seized in connection with various cases, according to the Maldives Police Service. 

The items had been confiscated by Aviation Security from tourists departing from Dhaalu Airport between 2023 and this year and were later handed over to the police.

The police stated that a specially formed committee supervised the destruction process. The Police stated that the disposal was carried out in accordance with regulations governing the destruction of alcohol and alcohol-related items taken into police custody.

Police stated that the alcohol was destroyed following the procedures outlined in the relevant regulation.
