Over 135 Recruits Graduate From MNDF Basic Training Course
A total of 137 recruits have graduated from the 72nd Basic Training Course of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The graduation ceremony was held on Thursday evening at the Addu Training Centre, with Minister of Defence and National Service Hassan Rasheed attending as the chief guest. During the ceremony, the minister inspected the parade and presented awards and plaques to outstanding recruits.
Private Mohamed Nazeeh Rasheed was recognised as the Best Student of the course.
Several other recruits were honoured for their performance during the training programme. Private Aishath Rana Abdul Rahman received the Commander Motor Hassan Manik Award, while Private Anoush Mohamed was presented with the Commander Ismail Didi Award. The Major Ingress Umar Manik Award was awarded to Private Mohamed Razaan Ali Zaheer.
Sierra Platoon of Shaheed Corporal Hussain Adam Company was selected as the Best Platoon of the course.
In his address to the graduates, Minister Hassan Rasheed highlighted the significance of military service and emphasised the discipline, values and responsibilities expected of MNDF personnel.
The three-month training programme was conducted by the MNDF College of Defence and Security Studies and commenced on 7 March 2026.
The ceremony was attended by Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, senior MNDF officers, instructors and family members of the graduates.
