Special Operation Training Programme Commences for Police Officers
A special operation training program has commenced to enhance the operational capability of Special Response and Deployment staff and develop skilled officers capable of conducting operations in a variety of situations.
According to the police, the training programme began on 14 June 2026 and will run for seven weeks in the Malé area and at the Dh. Vaanee Campus. A total of 34 officers are participating, including 27 men and seven women.
The police stated that the programme is organised by the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement and aims to raise the professional standards of special response and deployment personnel. Participants will receive technical training and practical experience to help them respond swiftly and effectively during operations.
The initiative is expected to strengthen operational readiness while equipping officers with the skills required to manage a range of situations. Stated by police, such programmes also support efforts to deliver a more comprehensive service to the public.
The training forms part of broader efforts to enhance the capability and preparedness of personnel tasked with responding to specialised operational demands, police stated.
