Manfaa Academy Launched to Promote Values-Based Youth Development Through Sport

The Manfaa Academy, established to promote disciplined and values-based youth development through sport, was officially launched yesterday.

The academy was inaugurated at a ceremony held at Ghiyasuddin International School by Ali Suzain, Technical Director of New Radiant Sports Club and an experienced football coach.

Operating under the Manfaa Association, the academy will be chaired by its founder Ali Rameez. Experienced volleyball coach Mohamed Sajid will serve as President, while the Vice Presidents include football coach Ali Nisthar Mohamed, Mohamed Taufiq, and Special Olympics coach Ibrahim Rameez.

At the ceremony, the academy’s official jersey was presented to Ali Suzain.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Ali Rameez said the Manfaa Academy aims to become a role model within the Maldivian sports sector and serve as a platform that contributes to community development through sport.

Speaking to PSM News, Vice President Ali Nisthar Mohamed said discussions are ongoing regarding the structure and implementation of the academy’s programmes. He said preparatory work is underway to begin practical operations, while registrations for children have not yet opened.

He added that registration will open soon and will be publicly announced.

Nisthar also said the academy will focus on developing children not only as athletes but as individuals guided by discipline and personal values. He said the programme aims to support young people who are mindful of their responsibilities and principles alongside sporting development.
