The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has reported a coordinated disruption affecting its official website and email services, saying the incident may have involved deliberate actions by former associates and external parties.

In a statement, MATATO said it is investigating the disruption, but no attribution has been formally confirmed at this stage. The association said it is preserving all available evidence and plans to refer the matter to the relevant authorities for investigation and possible legal action.

MATATO condemned what it described as unauthorised interference with its digital systems, communications and operations, and warned that unauthorised access, misuse or interference involving its systems, data, accounts or digital assets would be pursued under applicable law.

The association said it will provide further updates as its investigation progresses.
