20-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Sinamalé Bridge Motorcycle Crash

A 20-year-old man has sustained serious injuries after a motorcycle crashed on the Sinamalé Bridge while travelling from Malé to Hulhumalé.

Police said they received a report last night of a road accident involving a speeding motorcycle that skidded, lost control and collided with another motorcycle and a car.

Three people, all occupants of the two motorcycles involved, were injured in the crash.

The injured is receiving treatment at Hulhumalé Hospital and is currently undergoing surgery, according to police. Further details on his condition have not been released.

The other two injured individuals have been discharged after receiving medical treatment.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
